In January, television icon Judge Judy Sheindlin ’65 gave NYLS a historic gift creating transformative opportunities for women to attend the School and become leaders in the legal profession.
NYLS announced the newly redesigned Evening Division program, “NYLS Pro,” enhanced to meet the evolving needs of 21st century working professionals pursuing a part-time law degree in a more accessible and flexible way.
Throughout the spring semester, the new James Tricarico Jr. Institute hosted career panels with alumni who work as in-house counsel in fast-growing fields such as fintech, blockchain, and digital assets.
The Ford Foundation awarded NYLS’s Civil Rights and Disability Justice Clinic a generous grant to support the Clinic’s critical advocacy, research, and outreach work over the next three years.
In May, NYLS celebrated our accomplished alumni who serve at all levels of the judiciary at the 2022 Hall of Judges Ceremony and Reception. This year’s ceremony paid special tribute to Hon. Anthony Cannataro ’96, who was recently confirmed to the New York Court of Appeals.
The Black Law Students Association (BLSA) hosted their 26th Annual Alumni Awards Dinner in person. The event in April honored NYLS alumni Remington Gregg ’10, Hon. Ronald A. Gregg ’81, Hon. Alton Waldon ’73, and Ian P. Waldon ’93.
The Center for New York City Law virtually hosted the monthly CityLaw Breakfast series featuring prominent leaders in local government discussing current government and political issues.
New York Law School Law Review hosted a special, in-person benefit reception honoring the Law Review Classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022.
NYLS’s Sports Law Society hosted a hybrid virtual and in-person two-day symposium in April 2022 focused on cutting-edge topics in sports law, including labor relations and intellectual property. Samuel Porter ’09, Co-Managing Partner and Owner of Club Necaxa, was the keynote speaker.
NYLS’s 130th Commencement Exercises brought together the Classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022 to celebrate their graduations, in person for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
