NYLS Welcomes Professor Laurence H. Tribe for Lecture on Constitutional Law

2019 Sidney Shainwald Public Interest Lecture

On November 1, NYLS hosted Laurence H. Tribe, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard Law School, for the 2019 Sidney Shainwald Public Interest Lecture.

Professor Tribe’s scholarship focuses on American constitutional law, and he is author of To End a Presidency: The Power of Impeachment (Hachette, 2018), with Joshua Matz. He spoke with Jeffrey Toobin, Staff Writer at The New Yorker and Chief Legal Analyst at CNN, about his life and career, as well as his thoughts on the current impeachment proceedings.

Sybil Shainwald ’76, Dean Anthony W. Crowell, and Ken Feinberg gave introductory remarks. The lunch was attended by federal and state judges, numerous other leaders in law, NYLS trustees and faculty members, and members of the press. Before it, Professor Tribe held a special Q&A session with NYLS students.
