Hours after President Joseph R. Biden’s inauguration, she appeared live on CBS to weigh in on former President Donald Trump’s final pardons and commutations, as well as his upcoming Senate impeachment trial and other legal challenges.
“For a president who billed himself as the law and order president, this is a really telling set of pardons,” she noted. “And what it tells us is that there are certain kinds of crimes that the [former] president doesn’t consider important in that law and order message, and those crimes particularly … were politicians and businessmen, powerful people who had engaged in corruption.”
