New York Law School (NYLS) proudly congratulates Rebecca Roiphe, Joseph Solomon Distinguished Professor of Law, and Jeffrey Wice, Adjunct Professor and Senior Fellow of the New York Census and Redistricting Institute, on their recognition as Trailblazers in Law. The 2024 Trailblazers in Law list, presented by City & State New York, highlights a diverse array of legal experts in areas spanning academia and legal services to real estate and trial law. Within their respective fields, our faculty are driving meaningful change throughout New York and beyond.

A former Manhattan assistant district attorney, Professor Roiphe is celebrated for her profound understanding of the prosecutorial process and serves as a trusted source and analyst for significant legal issues. She contributes her knowledge and expertise to national platforms such as CBS News. Professor Roiphe has also been appointed to the New York City Mayor’s Advisory Committee on the Judiciary, which evaluates judgeship candidates.
Hailed as “New York’s redistricting guru,” Professor Wice earns recognition for his pivotal, impactful work in redistricting. He leads the School’s New York Census and Redistricting Institute, a first-of-its-kind resource center on congressional, state, and local redistricting processes. Additionally, Professor Wice has guided several local governments on redistricting issues and is currently developing a statewide educational program on the 2030 census.
Among those recognized as legal trailblazers are also several NYLS alumni.
Camille J. Mackler ’06 is recognized for her work as Founder and Executive Director of Immigrant ARC, a coalition of 80+ organizations providing legal services for immigrant New Yorkers. Mackler exemplifies steadfast advocacy for immigrant rights, dedicating her work to creating a fair and efficient immigration system.
Ross F. Moskowitz ’84, Partner at Hogan Lovells and NYLS Board of Trustees member, has spearheaded transformative real estate projects that promote sustainable development and affordable housing. His contributions in the realm of real estate law underscore his reputation as one of the top land use attorneys in New York City.
Founder of The DiPietro Law Firm Anthony T. DiPietro ’98 stands out as an advocate for victims of sexual assault, gender-based violence, and medical malpractice. His efforts in the pursuit of justice have led to landmark settlements and legislative reform aimed at protecting the rights of survivors.
