DEAN'S MESSAGE
To the New York Law School community,
In her collection of personal essays, Letters to My Daughter, American poet and playwright Maya Angelou says, “All great artists draw from the same resource: the human heart, which tells us all that we are more alike than we are unalike.” It’s a sentiment that rings equally true of impactful lawyers and leaders. It takes vision and a compassionate understanding of humanity to advance justice, build the economy, and serve the needs of our communities.
In this digital issue of our School’s magazine, I’m proud to share with you a closer look at the art that inspires our law school community, and the talented faculty and alumni who weave together the practice of law and art. We also spotlight accomplished faculty and alumni, and you will find a review of our faculty’s scholarly achievements and some of the standout community events from last semester.
