NYLS Hosts Major Career Fair for Northeast Black Law Students Association

On August 2, campus buzzed with law students from across the northeast and more than 60 high-profile employers.

For the ninth year in a row, NYLS hosted an annual job fair for the Northeast Region of the National Black Law Students Association (NEBLSA). The event draws international law firms, top government agencies, courts, and renowned public interest employers. Employers and students meet one-on-one after a matching process coordinated by NEBLSA.

NYLS has a strong presence on NEBLSA’s leadership team, and NYLS students played a key role in organizing the event. For NEBLSA, Maraya Aboly-Brown 2L is Regional Job Fair Coordinator, Alea Roberts 4L Evening is Director of Corporate Relations, Allan Louis 3L is Chief of Staff, Jasmine Bridges 3L is Director of Social Action, and Renee Akperov 3L is Convention Coordinator.

In addition, Aisha Joseph, NYLS’s Director of Academic and Career Advising and a Deputy Diversity Officer at the School, was involved in planning the event. NEBLSA has 1,000 active members who hail from dozens of law schools in eight states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
