Law Schools for Top Music Lawyers
NYLS was named to Billboard’s “Leading Law Schools of the Top Music Lawyers” list. The list was based on the 10 most frequently cited alma maters of Billboard’s top music lawyer honorees.
In addition, several NYLS alumni were listed as top music lawyers for 2021. They include Christine Lepera ’82, Co-Chair of the Entertainment/IP Litigation Group and a member of the governing board committee at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp. The firm’s clients include Post Malone, Drake, Timbaland, JAY-Z, and Eminem.
Another featured alum was David Jacobs ’07, a partner at Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks. His firm negotiated the Super Bowl LV performance by Weeknd, among other high-profile deals.
Craig Averill ’93, a partner at Serling Rooks; Michael Guido ’80, a partner at Carroll Guido Groffman Cohen Bar & Karalian; Elliot Resnik ’00, Senior Counsel at Herbsman Hafer Weber & Frisch; and Michael Selverne ’84, Managing Partner at Selverne & Company, also made the list. Law Schools With Alumni in BigLaw
Business Insider listed NYLS among seven law schools with a surprising number of alumni in BigLaw roles. The list was based on analysis of public employment records performed by Revelio Labs.
Business Insider reported that, based on this data, 200 NYLS graduates work at “top BigLaw firms like DLA Piper, Reed Smith, and Greenburg Traurig.”
In addition, according to NYLS’s records, the School has at least one alumnus at 93 of the Am Law 100 firms and at least one alumnus at 47 of the top 50 such firms. Read the full story (subscription required).
